Valentine's Day. Saturday, February 14th.

Kat Von D is coming to Madison for a book signing.

Madison is 2.5 to 3 hours away. This is how my boyfriend and I will be spending our Valentine's Day... Driving three hours to see a chick that I would go gay for, for about one minute. Awesome, and what a smart man he is to agree to this. At least we can have dinner at a nice(r) restaurant than the ones that are around here.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that I can enjoy getting drunk, as most other 20 or 30-somethings that reside in this town do. With that being said, I live in Wisconsin, and there's a university here. Beer + college kids + Wisconsin = LOTS of bars in this city = lots of drunk people roaming around. I happen to live just a few blocks away from the university, which mean that a lot of my neighbors in my building, as well as the surrounding apartment buildings are college kids.

There have been a lot of not-so-good things that have happened in my neighborhood as of late. An apartment below us was broken into, an old man was mugged while riding his bicycle, etc., etc... Needless to say, we are very cautious about locking our door at all times, particularly at night when we are sleeping.

Apparently, last night we forgot to lock the door when we came back in from having a cigarette before we went to bed.

I woke up for work this morning at 7:45. I, of course, hit the snooze button and eventually got up 10 minutes later to go have a cigarette before I took my shower. I came out of my bedroom and stumbled out into the hallway and stopped dead in my tracks... There was some random college kid laying out in the middle of my living room floor snoring his ass off and sleeping with one of our blankets that we left on the couch. I ran back into the bedroom and made the boyfriend get up to deal with this... Who knows what could have happened if I had woken him up. Dave woke him up and asked him if he knew if he was in the wrong apartment. The guy got up and chuckled a bit, sat there for a minute mumbling, and finally left. He wasn't wearing any socks or shoes, so who knows wtf was going on, particularly because there are a few feet of snow outside. Apparently the guy thought that he was in his sister's apartment, and he was still drunk.

Dave shrugged this off like it was no big deal. I'm a little bothered by it still. Yes, nothing bad happened, and nothing was taken, but something could have happened. I still can't believe that we didn't lock the door, we are SO careful about doing that.

Eventually, I will laugh about this, but fuck...

EDIT: I just started cleaning my apartment. I got off work early today, so I figured I would take advantage of the extra time I had before I go to my friend's house for X-mas dinner. While cleaning the living room, I found a pair of dripping-wet socks. At first, I thought they were my boyfriend's, until I realized that he doesn't wear those kind of socks, and why the hell would he have a pair of wet socks? Yes, the drunk dude left a present for us. Fucking disgusting.

Last night my boyfriend, his bff/our tranny roommate Kris, and I went to go see Semi Precious Weapons at The Warehouse downtown. They are a garage glam band, and I am in love with them.

I've been going through what I'd like to refer to as a "Quater-life crisis" as of late. (Joking, of course. Or at least somewhat). I found myself looking through my old pictures from the past few years amused with how much I've changed. I can't sleep, so I've put this together, in chronological order. Enjoy, and apologies if some of the images are large, I didn't feel like re-sizing the photos.

5 - Photo by Visually Odd Photography. I knew that stupid wedding dress would come in handy someday.

6 - Experimentation with make up. Leslie always said I looked dead. I was satisfied with the results.

7 - Skankin' it up. Note the pretty wedding ring. This makes me miss being married... Just a little bit.

8 - Yeah, I've got no comment here, except that I'm not too thrilled with how I drew my eyebrows on that day.

9 - Another favorite photo of mine, by Deviant Desires Photography. This was the last photo shoot I did, due to the fact that I couldn't afford to travel. I moved to Wisconsin weeks after this photo was taken.

10 - Depression at its finest, on the edge, last winter. Probably one of the few photos in existence of me without my bandanna.

11 - But wait! It gets worse!

12 - And then things got better :)

13 - And this is what my happy ass looks like now. Hooray for body mods.

Halloween

I've had this LJ for quite some time now, but I never post on it. MySpace has been my blogging home for the past three years, and DeadJournal for several years before that. I'm curious to see if anyone will even read this stuff. Hrmm.

At any rate, here is a picture of my boyfriend and I on Halloween last night. We were JFK and Jackie O... After the assassination. (I'm twisted).
